Hi Club Members,

By the time this Wine Club newsletter is published, our Club members will have received their emails regarding the delivery dates of your Fall Club wine selections.  This selection includes the 2016 Los Carneros Proprietress Reserve Chardonnay and/or the 2015 Estate Private Stock Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Rich Frederick recently tasted these wines again and we have included his notes below.

Please call us at
707-944-2019 direct or  707-944-1364  or  email us to change your delivery instructions if they are different from what we have indicated in the email sent to you.

As we enter the Holiday Season, we hope we are over the worst of the trials and tribulations that we have had to weather as an industry and as a community. We continue to offer our gratitude to the brave men and women who serve as firefighters and first responders from near and far and have come to our assistance during these trying times and to our medical heroes and essential workers who continue to fight the brave fight against Covid 19. Let's hope a vaccine is just around the corner. Above all, we are thankful for our team at Vine Cliff who work together to make great wine and present a wonderful SIP in place experience daily at our Oakville Estate.

Please keep safe, keep healthy and have a Happy Thanksgiving! Above all, thank you for your support of Vine Cliff wines.

Nell  Sweeney,

Proprietress

wine club fall release tasting notes

2016 Vine Cliff Los Carneros 'Proprietress Reserve' Chardonnay

This wine is really singing with a little bit of bottle age. The nose reveals the appealing secondary aromatics associated with a well cellared Chardonnay. Think almonds and sweet toast opening into Asian pear and apple blossom. The palate remains lively and crisp with notes of pear, ginger, warm baking spice, and slight salinity on the finish. Enjoy with your Thanksgiving feast as this wine will pair with just about everything on the table.

2015 Vine Cliff 'Private Stock'

Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2015 Private Stock has really hit its stride at this point. We recommend around an hour of decanting time before enjoying if you have the means, or simply plan ahead and pop the cork early afternoon. Sweet black cherry, lilac blossoms, and cassis open up to more savory notes of baking spice, rosemary, and just a hint of soy sauce. The black cherry note continues on the palate with dried thyme and olive tapenade integrated into a rich mouth feel and fine grained tannins. Ready to go now, but can still be cellared for an additional 10 years if you’re so inclined.
